Welcome to Fulton Pre-K-8 School where our mission and vision is to provide a 1st Class Education for all students and provide them with an education that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, curiosity, risk-taking, high-achievement, character development, and cultural diversity so students can succeed in their choice of college and career to participate and lead in the 21st century.
By the time our students graduate from high school they will enter a workforce that is vastly different than the present one. The 21st century economy will require our students to be bilingual or trilingual (English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese), problem solvers, critical thinkers, developers, and innovators. The non-negotiable focus at Fulton K-8 School will be student achievement so that they are equipped with the skills to GRADUATE FROM THE COLLEGE OF THEIR CHOICE!
To ensure that our students possess the 21st century skills that higher education requires and the workforce will demand, you can expect an uncompromising commitment to the educational pursuits of each and every student so that their potential is recognized and their dreams become a reality through hard work. The foundation of Fulton Pre-K-8 School is predicated on our P.R.I.D.E values known as: Passion, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence.
Parents, you can expect a first class education program that is rigorous, relevant and engaging, as well as a staff that is dedicated, loving, supportive, and committed to lifelong learning. Fulton Pre-K-8 has instituted Spanish at all grade levels, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), Gateway to Technology, engineering, chess, visual art, and instrumental music. Upon visiting Fulton you can expect an inviting atmosphere where classrooms are engaging, promethean boards and iPads are a part of daily instruction, and project-based learning is fully utilized to bolster, foster, and promote a love for the arts, sciences, innovation, and ingenuity.
Our student's education and future is paramount! It is our goal to provide our faculty with the best training for the implementation of the Common Core that includes proven strategies around project-based learning in order to continually improve the teaching and learning at Fulton. Our teachers collaborate every week to plan, analyze student work, review assessments, and strengthen their teaching practices so that they can provide a rigorous academic program for each student. Upon visits to classrooms you can expect to see project-based learning, English language development (ELD), differentiated and small group instruction, as well as critical thinking. Additionally, students are provided with online educational tools such as starfall.com, weebly.com, muktiplication.com, edpuzzle.com, www.atrtonline.com, and raz-kids.com to enhance their academic performance.
Research shows that regular daily attendance and enhanced parental involvement results in advanced academic achievement. Parents, please fell free to contact each of your child's teachers to establish your best method of communication. We recommend email, school visits, notes, phone calls, Zangle Parent Connect, monitoring your student's planner, and the Fulton website as a way to monitor your child's progress and school functions. It is our goal to provide a response to parents within 24 business hours of your contact. We value your involvement in the process of educating your child and welcome your participation in every aspect of our school.
We offer multiple opportunities for parents to meet with our administrative team and staff. There is a monthly Principal Chat and Chew in the parent center. We have an active English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), and School Site Governance (SSG). If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the main office.
As we embark upon this journey of learning together, I look forward to getting to know you personally and serving your family. Please note that my door will always be open to you to ensure together we nurture every student's academic, social, and personal development. Feel free to stop by my office or to stop me in the hallways. If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns I can also be reached at 619-344-3200 or [email protected]
